CEO Comments Iain McKenzie, CEO of The Guild of Property Professionals 21st December 2023

The Guild of Property Professionals successfully hosted its annual Autumn Tour virtually last week, allowing Member agents from across the UK to participate in the event.

 

Iain McKenzie, the CEO of The Guild of Property Professionals, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “Our Autumn tour has become an annual fixture on the calendar, giving us an opportunity to speak to our Members about the developments within the network, the latest technology launches, as well as tips, training, and advice.”

 

McKenzie highlighted that the event included an update on key market points from property market analyst statistics, a business planning session for 2024, insights into how Guild Members are using the Premium Plan to double their fees in the current market, and an update on several new products and services.

 

“The focus of the event was on how our Members could prepare themselves for 2024, looking at ways in which, together with The Guild, they could increase revenue in the current economic environment. In the words of Benjamin Franklin, by failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail. Agents need to be thinking about the year ahead and have a robust plan in place to take on what challenges may lie ahead. With steep competition in the market, it is crucial to stand out from the crowd and find ways that will set you apart from other agents in the region. As a network our aim is to help provide independent agents with the tools and services that will help them punch above their weight and compete with much larger brands,” commented McKenzie. “As always, a lot has happened over the past 12 months within The Guild with regards to partnerships and enhancements that will add further value to our membership offering, focusing on the pillars of making money, saving money and remaining compliant.”

 

According to McKenzie, compliance updates were also a significant part of the event, with Compliance Officer Paul Offley providing valuable insights. “When it comes to legislation and compliance requirements, the only constant is change. Paul has done an amazing job keeping our Members informed of the latest developments and how they can ensure they remain compliant,” he added.

 

McKenzie pointed out that Offley covered various topics during the meeting, including a compliance update and upcoming elements that agents needed to be prepared for in the near future.

 

“The virtual event was a great way to provide our Members with an overview of what they can expect in the coming year from The Guild. We look forward to seeing our Members in person next year at The Guild’s annual conference in March 2024,” McKenzie concluded.
