Record attendance underscores value of The Guild network at ‘Ignite’ Conference and Awards

CEO Comments Iain McKenzie, CEO of The Guild of Property Professionals 10th February 2026

The Guild of Property Professionals has reported record-breaking attendance at its Annual Conference and Awards Ceremony, Ignite, held at the QEII Centre in Westminster, reinforcing the importance independent agents place on collaboration, professional support and network strength.

Bringing together Members from across the UK, the conference highlighted the continued demand for shared insight, peer engagement and collective expertise within the independent sector. The increased delegate numbers marked the largest turnout in the event’s history, reflecting the growing value of The Guild’s national network at a time of ongoing market and regulatory change.

Rather than focusing solely on market commentary, Ignite placed strong emphasis on the role of partnership, communication and professional connection in driving sustainable agency performance. Networking remained a central element of the day, providing Members with opportunities to exchange best practice, strengthen commercial relationships and engage directly with The Guild’s leadership and support teams.

Opening the conference, Iain McKenzie, CEO of The Guild of Property Professionals, addressed Members on the year ahead and outlined how the organisation continues to support independent agents through compliance guidance, training, marketing expertise and strategic insight. He noted that the scale of attendance demonstrated the relevance of a connected, collaborative approach in an increasingly complex operating environment.

The speaker programme explored themes including leadership, communication, innovation and performance, with sessions designed to support business resilience and long-term growth. Across the agenda, the focus remained firmly on practical application and the value of learning from shared experience across the network.

McKenzie comments: “Our Members value being part of a network that provides not just insight and tools, but genuine professional support. This conference demonstrated the importance of partnership in helping agents navigate change and build sustainable businesses.”

The event concluded with The Guild Awards Ceremony, recognising excellence, professionalism and service among Members over the past year. This year’s award winners were primarily determined by a mystery shopping programme delivered by a third party, offering an objective, customer-focused assessment. All Guild Members were invited to take part, and they will receive their mystery shop reports as part of this year’s award process. The awards continue to highlight best practice within the network and celebrate those agencies setting benchmarks for customer service and operational standards.

Commenting on the awards, McKenzie said: “The Guild Awards are an important opportunity to recognise the outstanding professionalism, service and commitment demonstrated by our Members. This year’s winners represent the very best of independent agency, setting benchmarks for quality, integrity and customer care across the sector. It is a privilege to celebrate their achievements and to showcase the high standards that exist within the Guild network.”

The Guild’s Annual Conference and Awards Ceremony once again served as a key industry gathering for independent agents, reinforcing the organisation’s role in supporting professionalism and best practice across the UK property sector.
