Guild Membership can save agents up to £2,799 a month on costs

The Guild of Property Professionals has launched its new industry-facing website with all the information agents would need to know about The Guild and the advantages of becoming a Member. Iain McKenzie, CEO of The Guild, says the new website is the ideal starting point for agents who are interesting in becoming Members, and would like to see how The Guild can help them make money, save money and remain compliant.

“With over 800 Members, The Guild has been able to harness the economy of scale that the size of the network provides to secure a wide variety of products and services to Members under the standard monthly fee of £495. This includes services such as professional indemnity insurance, Trading Standards-approved training, six quality own-branded magazines a year and virtual tools, to name only a few. As a single independent estate agency, many would struggle to find service providers who would be willing to give them a preferential rate on their fees. However, as a large network of property professionals, The Guild is able negotiate deals with suppliers that will help independent agents save on their monthly costs and provide them with an invaluable toolbox of products and services that they may not be able to afford as a single business,” says McKenzie.

He adds that a product calculator has been added to the new website so that agents can compare how much they could save on ‘third-party product and service costs’ by becoming a Member of The Guild. “We have included 18 products and services at estimated comparable industry prices that estate and lettings agents would have to pay for individually. All of these products and services are currently offered under our standard monthly Membership but would cost around £3,294 a month if the agent were to purchase all of them directly from a supplier. If the agent used all 18 products, it would equate to a potential saving of £2,799 a month. However, given that agents may not use all the products or may want to select the ones they do currently use with another supplier, the calculator provides them with the ability to amend costs or take them out altogether. This way they will only be looking at how much they could potentially be saving on the products they will utilise or want,” McKenzie explains.

As The Guild continues to evolve, so will our calculator, and the more services and products we make available as part of our standard membership, the more money agents will be able to save.

McKenzie continues that rather than paying individual suppliers for fragmented services, it makes sense for estate and lettings agents to become Members of a network such as The Guild and get the exclusivity, the referrals, the income-generating tools, legal advice and compliance all under one roof for a set monthly fee. “As an organisation, we are consistently innovating and looking to introduce further products to ensure that our Members have a competitive edge in the market. The introduction of additional services that help estate and lettings agents grow their market share and business, make the membership offering that much more cost effective,” McKenzie concludes.
