News that The Guild of Property Professionals would be launching an Ofqual-accredited, Level-Three Agency Qualification covering residential sales, lettings and property management has resulted in 214 agents registering for the training in less than a week. According to Paul Offley, The Guild’s Compliance Officer, this is the highest number of Guild Members to sign-up to an initiative launched by the organisation in such a short time span.

Paul, who together with Head of Engagement and Development, Jennifer Scott-Reid, will be responsible for this new initiative says: “The fact that so many Guild Members have been so eager to register for the qualification with such a short time frame proves that agents within the network are committed to improving the service they deliver to their clients, as well as the overall level of professionalism across the sector. Offering a formal qualification is something that we as an organisation are doing in response to a request from the Membership. Although mandatory qualifications are not yet a requirement for agents, the rapid uptake of this formal qualification is evidence that there is a desire among agents to be recognised as the professionals they are and having fully qualified teams will raise standards and enhance consumer confidence.”

The training will be offered to Guild Members inclusive of their Membership, however, they will have to pay for the cost of the examination to obtain the qualification. The training will be delivered using a digital platform and supported via a range of digital learning options will be available to Members across England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland. We will possibly look at making the training available to agents outside of the network at a later stage, however, for the time being, it is an exclusive offer to the Membership.

The announcement has also further sparked interest among agents who may have previously been sitting on the fence about joining the network. The addition of the formal qualification to the Membership offering has resulted in five new independent agencies joining the network, with a further 21 prospect meetings booked with our Regional Managers. Our Membership offering continues to be enhanced by these additional services and many agents are recognising the value of being a part of The Guild.
